Let's get down to business!
What I liked:
The intro was very cool. I liked seeing all of the past winners and memorable characters (such as Bush Baby Boy and the guy who thought he was Clay Aiken's doppelganger). Re-showing David Cook's triumph was moving. Of course, I've got all those post-preggo hormones still running through me, but hey, it was still cool to see.
Shebert-haired Emily Hughes, who sang "Barracuda" has some chops!
Arianna Afsar, who created the program "Adopt a GrandFriend". She was so cute and innocent-looking, not to mention a really good voice.
Alex Wagner-Trugman, the closet-singing geek; WOW. Very cool voice for a geeky looking guy.
THE NEW JUDGE! I loved Kara (except for one instance, which will be mentioned shortly)! She spoke her mind like Simon, but could still goof around. No drugs in this woman's system.
The Renaissance Man at the end, singing "Wanted". OH my gosh, I was laughing so hard I thought I would bust a gut, literally.
Michael Gurr, who was the creepy guy that tried to sing one of Kara's songs. My jaw dropped when he started singing. Way too creepy, but still funny.
What I didn't like:
3 Things
1. Katrina Darrell- please, put some clothes on sweetie. I'm sure all the women agree with me. She moved her head and mouth funny when she sang; she looked wooden because she didn't move her body at all; she was snotty and rude. She was okay, but I don't think she deserved to go through. However, she did have a nice derrierre.
2. Kara, please don't demonstrate how a song is supposed to be sung more than once. The first time was nice, but then standing up and trying to outsing Miss Wooden Bikini Body; it's just retarded.
3. This is going to sound totally insensitive, but Scott MacIntyre, the visually impaired guy. He surprisingly had a great voice, but I didn't like how they built up his story throughout the show. I know this is just drama created by the producers, not Scott's fault, but nonetheless...here's to seeing how he does in Hollywood.
Great start and I'm looking forward to tonight's show.
