I Love You...I Hate You

It's true; I have a love/hate relationship with the judges. I can't help it.

Paula...oh, where do I even begin? What kind of drugs are you again? And what's REALLY in your cup during the show? I definitely dislike her more than I like her; she hardly ever gives a real opinion. Everyone "looks great/fantastic" when they sing bad. I finally heard her give some good constructive criticism this past season, but it was only a few rare moments.

And Simon...I usually agree with him. He's the most candid of the three and actually has somewhat of a vocabulary (if I hear cabaret singer one more time, I might scream). I respect him because he's real. HOWEVER, will you please stop whispering in Paula's ear while she's talking and making her look more stupid than she already is? Um, and he's kind of hot...in an older man kind of way.

Randy, you come and go...can you find a different word than "dawg" and a different phrase than "check it out"? And wear a normal pair of glasses this time. But thank you for giving true opinions 90% of the time!

Now, they are introducing a fourth judge, whom I've never heard of:

Kara DioGuardi. She's a singer/songwriter, but mostly "well-known" for writing songs for former Idols and contestants. I see a lot of pop singers on her resume. I'm interested to see how well she meshes with the other three and what kind of opinions she gives.

I will leave you with this thought: As much as Paula is a pain in the tookus, she does add "drama" to the show. Would the show be better off without her?

Let Me Introduce You to David Cook

Hi and thanks for visiting my blog! Just so we don't lose track of last year's big winner, let's find out a little bit about:

DAVID COOK

First off, thank you to whoever changed his haircut. It was awful at the beginning of the show

and finally started looking good at the end. I think he looks very nice on the cover of his CD (which HOPEFULLY the hub will be gracing me with for Christmas this year). Check it out:

Here are some stats:
Age: 25
Hometown: Blue Springs, MO

Musical Influences: Our Lady Peace, Big Wreck

As for a recap of last year, it was a close finish between David and David Archuleta. Personally, I was rooting for David Cook, but wasn't going to be upset with who won. They both had their own styles and hardly pulled in bad performances.

Songs Performed:

"The World I Know" by Collective Soul
